Calling all Uk'ers!!

Postby Xphile_mo » Oct 04, 2006 4:30 am

Hi, I'm from Scotland and - as is clear from reading all the stories here - our entire country (UK) doesn't seem to know enough about this condition or how to help us. :(

Know I would be very keen to get more people informed and also clued up on this and was just wondering if any of you out there are aware of any studies on this condition in the UK??? If not, think it's time there were some!!

Anyone heard of anything that could help us all - and make life easier for future HG sufferers?

Hi Moira,
I totally agree! I dont know of any studies into HG in the UK. Even my consultant seems largely clueless and STILL RECCOMENDED GINGER BISCUITS!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it? I guess we are years behind the States as usual.
It's just a shame no man ever got HG cos there would be a cure for sure by now if they did!
Heres hoping we catch up withthe States one day?

I don't know of any either, and definitely think there should be some.

I don't know of any either. I got a slight bit of hope though when I saw a top specialist in Bristol for a different medical issue, and somehow hg came up and he looked shocked and very sympathetic for me that I had suffered with it. So there is awareness out there, sometimes, somewhere in the UK!
