Hi Saph18,
Well good luck with getting pregnant & hopefully you are lucky & don't have HG with this pregnancy!
I'm in Ontario & found with my pregnancy in 2008 the support & knowledge for HG here was horrible! This time around it's much better..... but I'm still having to bring lots of ideas to my OB. Honestly with this pregnancy I just wished & prayed a whole lot that I wouldn't have HG..... no luck :( Should have known better with HG being in women on both sides of my family..... surprised my families survived the "old days" with HG! lol
I have a 5 year old son & kinda hope this one is a boy just so I don't pass on HG to a daughter!!

Hi Jennaleigh!
I'm 12 weeks so we have close due dates! How are you doing with coping with your HG? Have a supportive Doctor in Alberta?

Thanks Shannon! I'll take all the fluffy vibes available! However, it doesn't seem headed that way as I already had to start some meds! We'll see!! How are you doing?

Well at least you are on the meds early & hopefully they work well for you to have a medicated fluffy pregnancy :)
Things are actually getting better for me. I'll be 17 weeks in a couple days & everything made a change after I started going to acupuncture. I saw it mentioned on here & a few other people mentioned it to me. I went about 3 weeks ago & my nausea slowly got better.... I'd say without meds my N/V is a 10 out of 10, with the Zofran an 8/10 & I was still going every 1.5-2 weeks for IV's at the ER. Since the acupuncture I would say I fluctuate between a 5 - 7/10 & have not required to go to the ER for any IV's!!! I'm now down to going for acupuncture twice a weeks & will probably stay there for the rest of my pregnancy. The acupuncturist said that she frequently treats nausea & vomiting in pregnancy, but I was by far the worst she had seen. She told me that the acupuncture is meant to relieve mild to moderate nausea & she didn't expect me to get complete relief & she did not want me to stop my medication. But I will take ANY sort of relief from the nausea!! I'm still not back to work, but my weight loss has slowed down & I just feel better. Usually the day before my acupuncture I find my nausea is worse & then after it's better.

Shannon, I'm so glad to hear that you have found some relief with the combination of treatments. You are almost at the half point! :) I will look into trying acupuncture as well this time!

Hi Shannon,
I'm still stable! That is great! Same meds and I am partially functionnal, but that means I am still able to work reduced hours and take care of some things at home when I'm not working, with a lot of help from my partner with the little one, of course! (She does most of the routine with him)
How about you?
