Glad I found this one!

Well I just got out of a 2 day stay at the hospital. Now everyone thinks I should be "cured". I keep hearing what have you eaten, why have you vomited again, why dont they just keep you until this subsides... I am so sick of advice from people who dont know anything abuot HG. when I tell them they just look at me like I am making this stuff up!

My boss asked while at the hospital if that meant I was going to be back Oct 1 or not... Hello they are putting me in an IV right now can I get back to you about when I am coming back to work?

My doc does not believe me anymore either... I am just going to keep demanding what I need. It is my body and I know what I am feeling. She actually asked me if I was doing this for attention. HELLO... I am having a baby why would I go through a PUMP and IV's every other day to get attention. To get attention I would dye my hair purple.

Sorry to keep going on, but everyone is so insensitive. why cant they just understand I am doing all that I can to stay as healthy as I can!

DeCole,

I am so sorry that is happening! With my two previous pgs, my docs belittled what I was going through, thought I was just being an overly sensitive, whiny pregnant woman. When the drs. later told my husband that we were going to lose the baby (my 2nd) because of it, I was furious, because I kept telling my dr. and even a specialist what was wrong, and they said it was just normal pg stuff. Even at the hospital, I'd show up, desperately needing an IV, and the nurse would say something asinine (like, all women go through morning sickness), but then check my urine, get a freaked out look after seeing my ketones and realize I needed an IV asap.

It seems like only someone whose been through this can comprehend. Even my own mother thinks I am just "a little morning sick," and suggests I try ginger or crackers or tea. Last night, I told her specifically how many times I threw up yesterday, and she was shocked. She didn't believe me.

Hang in there! You are doing the best you can!
