Can you use either a ng or nj for hydration?

Postby sonie716 » Dec 15, 2005 8:33 am

When I had my son before I had a picc line and was on zofran in that, I would get two to three bags of fluid aday and 16mg of zofran. My question is this, I have heard about the ng and the nj tubes, can any of these be used so that you can have hydration through them. Hydration was the key for me. I had to have it every day from 6 wks till delivery.

Yes, you would be fed both fluids and nutrition. So when you are on tube feeding, it's complete nutrition including your water.
