Back pay

Postby Jolene » Jun 08, 2005 2:51 pm

Ladies,

I just got a letter from the school department I worked for. I owe them almost $700 in back pay! I haven't even gotten a paycheck since March, but the way they figure out the pay period isn't by how many days you have worked, it is by how many days you will work throughout the school year. Now, I have to wait and see if I am approved for the sick bank days, and if not I will have to pay the school department.

I haven't worked since the last week of February because of HG, and I wasn't even going to go back next year, considering I will be about 9 months pregnant in September. I figured what's the point? Now, I feel I have to go back because I am on the border of being in bad standing and it is one of the best jobs I have ever had. Does it ever get any easier??

I am considering going back as a sub after the baby is born and when I am done with my Masters, I will apply for a teaching position somewhere. There is always so much to worry about.

Jolene,

Did you ever get the backpay issue figured out? Geez, it's hard enough to go without a paycheck, much less have to pay your employer back.
