Moving to New Jersey

Postby snowdon » Sep 26, 2007 8:13 am

Hi

I am currently living in the United Kingdom with my husband. We found out we were pregnant and when I got sick I wanted to move home to be with my mom. ( I am from New Jersey that is where I was born) we are in the process of trying to get everything togeather to get home. Well being in UK means we were on NHS so no insurance needed. we did have insurance in the United states but stopped it when we moved here in March. The problem now is pregnancy is a pre-exsisting condition and evey one we call wont cover it. I am posting to see if anyone has any suggestions. any ideas??? we are trying to sort this by Novemeber that is when I fly home.

Have you tried this:

or

http://www.horizon-bcbsnj.com/shbp/nj_plus.asp

Hopefully there is something in there for you!

A group plan (usually through an employer) cannot exclude you for pregnancy as a preexisting condition. I think individual policies can, though. If you can't get a policy you could see if you qualify for Medicaid.
