Has anyone had Both HG and HELLP Syndrome?

Postby micropreemiemommy » Apr 16, 2007 5:46 pm

My first pregnancy was a Class I HELLP pregnancy, delivered at 27 weeks via c-section.
My second pregnancy was an HG pregnancy, delivered at 36 weeks vie c-section
My last pregnancy was totally normal throughout, with a uterine rupture at the very end. Delivered that one via c-section, too, at 38 weeks.

I am curious if anyone has had HELLP and HG, and if anyone had them only once like me. My pregnancy complications never repeated themselves, only the pre-term labor.

I am also curious if anyone developed SLE (lupus) or any related auto-immune disease prior or after an HG or HELLP pregnancy. Thanks!

Yay, Keke! You've finally posted. :D
I swear I've seen at least one person on the forums who mentioned having had HELLP, but can't remember who it was. I hope they see this and come post!

I have had two HG pregnancies.

I had rapid onset pre-E/HEL (minus the LP). Not sure if that counts or not.

Sounds you like you had three hellacious experiences there. I'm sorry to hear about all three, and then to end it with a UR. How scary! :hugs:

Wow, sounds like you are an overachiever who tried to do it all  !

Sorry, I can't help being sarcastic sometimes - shame on me.

I'm just an HG mommy with some pre-E issues twice. Look around here at some of the polls and in the long-term health issues folders. I know the topic of immune diseases has come up several time beofre and it does seem like we have a high percentage of those among HGers.

My family has no real history of HG (maybe an aunt) but we are full of auto-immune diseases in various forms.

Sorry I don't have links to where these topics were posted before but I know they are around somewhere...I'm just old and I forget things
