When did HG start?

Postby HelenA » Sep 13, 2005 6:47 am

Tell us when HG started for you and if and when it started to get better. Mine hit around 8 weeks, and only started to ease around 25 weeks, although I still felt really ill, the vomiting had tapered off.

Mine started, as the dr kindly said when it should be starting to ease off...around 12 wks. He kept saying for the first couple weeks of it..ahh it'll go away your 12 wks, then 13..until like 16 or so weeks he finally caught on after many visits with ketones. DUH. And I guess it let up a little around 34 wks or so..but I was getting TPN and not really eating a whole lot but I could drink without puking by then.

My HG started on July 24, 2004. I was about 5 weeks pg. It eased up by Christmas as I was able to sit at the table while everyone ate. A dinner that somehow I cooked. I ate ****mashed potatoes and stuffing!*** Highlight between the stars and you can see. I stole that from another message board

Mine starts between 8-10 weeks. First pg it never left. but lightened (a bit) but mid-2nd tri. Second pg, it started to ease up by midway through 2nd tri and was very easy afte that. This pg, it's hard to tell. Meds help it to ease up, and it is certainly much lighter. But inbetween the meds, I feel pretty crappy...and so know how light or heavy it would be. I'll have to keep you updated LOL

Mine started at 4 weeks the first time and about 5 1/2 weeks the second time. The first time it eased up after I delivered and the second it eased up around 26 weeks unless I missed a dose of zofran.

Nausea started right around 5 weeks with all but Avery, who kindly held off until close to 7 weeks. I had one week of building nausea, and then all Hell broke loose.

The vomiting turned off at 13 weeks with Brody; I was back to work at 14 weeks, off meds at 25 weeks with only mild lingering nausea. With Avery the vomiting stopped at 14 weeks, and I was feeling more even by 20 weeks (no meds). With Reilly, vomiting stopped at 11 weeks (scared the heck out of me!), but I held on to the nausea for the whole pregnancy. I was on Zofran/meclizine until 25 weeks, Zofran/Unisom then until 30 weeks, and I limped through the last 9 weeks on Unisom alone--not my smartest move. With my missed miscarriage, HG ended abruptly at 10 weeks, and I started spotting a few days later.

Mine started before I missed my period. I took a hpt and it was +. I was scheduled for an ultrasound 2 weeks later and he said that I was 5 weeks pregnant then.

I was nauseus at 5 weeks, but didn't actually start vomiting until 7 weeks. Assuming I have no further flare ups, it started tapering off around 22-23 weeks.
