HI all. I am going to be working on compiling some info on my Hg history and some info about HG for my congress person as well as info about the DC briefing. I will be going to their office in person to drop off the info as well as send info to each office.
Has anyone else contacted any of their congress people? If so, what info did you include? I don't want to leave out any important and helpful info.

I just emailed my story to mine. I am supposed to be hearing back from one of them any day. I just told about the foundation, the disease, and that if it hadn't been for the foundation and this website I don't know if my son would be here today. I basically chronicled my whole third pregnancy, which was the worst HG wise.

I really had to cut mine because I could only email a certain number of words. If you are dropping it off, I would suggest that you tell them everything you can and is as much detail as you can as far as your feelings, the doctor's and nurses reactions, and anything else you can think of. I think they need to hear how it really is, not a watered down version.

That is my opinion at least.

Good luck,

Jen,

What did you end up writing? I can't believe I have put it off this long, but I have to do it this weekend. I was actually planning on writing something short, then asking them to meet with me while I'm there, and also come to the briefing.

If you have gotten any tips from anyone, please share!

Do I get to meet you and Ava there?

Jen, I'm also eager to know what you wrote. The thought of doing this terrifies me. Not really sure why, but I get this blank stare on my face and think, "you want me to do what?" But I have no qualms about speaking. Makes no sense to me.

We really need to push this, and I know if women feel like they know what to say that will make a big difference! I need courage!

I have not gotten them done yet. My plan was to chronicle both preg, hospitlization, meds and so forth. The first HG pres was very severe and a bit more dramatic the second as you know was better controled but had several med issues. I was then going to give a breif overveiw of what HG is, how many it effects and how debilitating it may be as well as how expensive it is. I got my rite aid records.... my out patient meds alone were nearly 30,000. I have not tallied the trips to hospital and severel office visists... another 30 to 40 k I am sure.

When I tried to get my records, the first set ( from my preg w/ Ava) there were items missing. When I tried to get my records from the lost preg, the more severe HG, well those records are said to be lost. No one can find them
Not sure what to do with that.
In any case, I am trying to work with what I have. Have been trying to work on it all week. I am hoping to have it done this weekend. I will share it with you when I finish it.

I would really love to go down, I really want to meet everyone, I am still unsure though. We are trying to get our house togehter to sell and have to budget money. But I really really want to go. I miss talking to you all.

OH, by the way, has there been any mention of the 28th being cancelled? I spoke w/ my neighbor that does consulting in DC and she said keep watch for that with everything that is going on.

I'm hoping everything will be settling down by then. We're going anyway, making a family vacation out of the whole thing, so I hope all the other plans will stay set, we may get a bit less attendance though.

It's the last week of congress before they adjourn for the year, so if it gets postponed it'll be a long time.

I've heard nothing of a cancelation. Kimber just reserved the room we're going to share yesterday . . . so I presume there's been no words saying it's not happening. I'm sure Ann Marie and Kimber would tell us right away.
