Religious Forum Requests

The administrators of this forum are a group of HG survivors who are devoted to maintaining a safe and comfortable place for all HG sufferers. Everyone has personal beliefs, but this community welcomes everyone without prejudice. It is not our place to decide morality or spirituality for others. We are here for the primary goal of helping you survive HG.

The best way for us to do this is to allow people to discuss religion and prayer anywhere that the poster chooses as long as the discussion is respectful. It is not necessary to create a specific forum for the issue. The community has always done a wonderful job of this in the past.

There are close to 2000 members in this community, and probably close to that many ideas about how the forums should be structured. We recognize that none of us is perfect, and the forums may not be perfect either, but we try our best.

There have been many well-thought, eloquent, and reasonable arguments on both sides of this issue. Unfortunately, there have been others on both sides who have not been respectful, and this topic reemerges from time to time. Feel free as usual to discuss issues regarding religion in any of the other folders, but always respect the beliefs and viewpoints of others and know that these forums are here to discuss issues related to hyperemesis, not to represent any particular religion or value system.

Thank you for supporting us!

To further clarify the topic of religion and policy, we reiterate that discussion of faith is allowed on our forums.

You are welcome to discuss how your religion has helped you with HG and its many issues. We all need to be respectful of others who may not share our beliefs. Religion and faith are important to many who cope with HG. Sharing of faith, scriptures, references, or stories for the sake of helping yourself or others is within guidelines for our forums. To avoid misunderstandings, sharing the context or reason why you are posting a topic of faith is expected. Proselytizing or moral lecturing is not within guidelines. There are other forums and websites for that. Debate of others' beliefs is not allowed. Honesty is welcome here, disrespect is not.
