Less than 16 weeks and cant believe the costs so far!

My Dh was online the other day researching a bill discrepinsy for something non-HG related and he did a "printout" of what the insurance has been billed so far for me in this pregnancy. As of Tuesday the my insurance has been billed for $49,650!!!!!! And, might I add, I still 15 weeks along!!!!!! HOLY MOLY!

Thank God we have good insurance.... cuz we havent even paid a fraction of that.

BTW, that totak doesnt include my U/S yesterday, my visit with my Peri or the home nurse visit (to change the dressing on my PICC line)! I found out it costs the insurance $150 for the nurse to change my bandage! CRAZY!

Just couldnt believe it.... so I thought Id share :)

Holy Moly.

I know my medical has been relatively low, or so I think since I can't handle looking...seriously, everything is in sealed enveloped in a special folder and I'm getting collection notices  . Although I could be very wrong with all the special u/s and tests cause I'm a geezer.

Zofran and other meds have cost about over 12K. :D We are poster children for good prescription coverage, eh?

I know how much mine is because my insurance only covers 80%. Ugh. This pg is costing dh and I about $2,000. It makes me want to cry.

Yeah, and the reason we are only out $2k is because there is a max out of pocket for the year and I will hit that. I did get excellent, excellent zofran coverage though. Anyhow, I added it all up and DD was almost $90K. This baby has been waaaaay less. 4 IV rehydrations at about $600 each, prenatal visits, bloodwork, perinatologist, u/s, and the delivery. But it is amazing how much it adds up. I just got a bill from the pathologist who looked at my placenta and the ins. is only coving 60% because they are out of network! Oh honestly. Noone asked me who I wanted to look at the placenta! I didn't even know it was being looked at!! So, $100 out of my pocket for that asinine thing. I did get about $9K in zofran though for only $75 out of pocket, so whatever.

That is just shocking!! I don't know how women without insurance financially survive a pregnancy, let alone an HG pregnancy. I'm so glad that both of you don't have to pay too much, but still...
