*UPDATED* New news - My employment situtation

Postby Tracy34 » Aug 22, 2007 7:01 am

It's been a long time since I've been here and a lot has changed. I had my son on 12/22/07. He was born a month early and spent over a week in NICU, but is now a healthy, happy 4 mos old. While I was on maternity leave, I found a new job which I am happy to say is wonderful.

I still have a case pending with EEOC in regards to my last employer and it could take months before I hear anything. I can't help but feel that this little boy of mine came early due to all the stress I was under, but I have no way to prove that.

For those of you being "laid off" and "fired" from your jobs, or being treated just unfairly, stick to your guns and don't let anyone treat you this way. There ARE laws to protect us and unfortunately, too many of us give up.

Hang in there and I'll keep you posted as to my progress.

I'm sorry you are still being treated poorly at work. Your employer is racking up a lot of bad karma. Thanks for the update...I had been curious how things are going. What action is your lawyer going to take?

So you are 18 weeks and have been sicke for the past 12. How is that impacting you at work? Are they basing this off of you missing days? Etc? FWIW, in my first pregnancy, I was struggled to work for 4 weeks with the HG increasingly getting worse ... it started at week 6 by week 8 I was barely functioning. I was just shy of 10 weeks and was out on total disability for 2 1/2 months.

That's very very sad they are using your illness against you. That you have continued to do your job and some OT is amazing and shows how much of a hard worker you are.

I am so sorry that your employer has done this to you. I hope that your lawyer determines that an injustice has been done and your employer has one HUGE black mark on their company records.

Wow. That is so illegal. You're protected under the ADA. Your lawyer should be able to rip them a new one in a serious way.

DD#2 - So Far: Intense HG during the 1st tri, but with very aggressive & early treatment it cleared up in the 2nd tri. NVP returned at 28 wks, taking 8 mg Zofran+20 mg Nexium at night. Protocol on my blog & in the HG prep folder.
