Hi and welcome to all of you; new and old timers to HG and HER
Lucy - I'm sorry for not replying sooner, I keep missing this thread myself lol.
Yes, so I'm in Bristol - a bit of a way from you if you're over in the south east. There are some ladies on here from the SE, but they don't seem to be regular users of the site.
When I was preparing to ttc, I wrote up and posted a protocol which is somewhere in the 'Preparation for HG' folder. I would point you to it but I recommend that you go and check out all of the protocols and lift anything you find useful. I basically nicked about 5 people's protocols from the forum and pasted it into one enormously long word document and then cut and pasted it to suit my particular circumstances.
The HG this time around... it came on earlier (5 weeks) than in my previous pgy (regular ms from 6 weeks, HG from 7weeks). Although I was diagnosed in my last pgy straight away, I wasn't given any anti-emetics to start off with. To this day, I don't know why. Why oh why did the Dr. not prescribe anything until I'd lost over a stone????? *sigh* I didn't get anything 'til I was 10 weeks when I had changed Drs. Anyway, this time round I wasn't putting up with any nonsense so I was straight down the Drs asking for my prescription the first day I puked lol.
Anyway, the HG did come on earlier but I feel it was better managed as I have *only* lost a stone this pgy despite being on meds since day 1 of the sickness. I also haven't puked as much which I also put down to the meds but it has lasted longer than before and the nausea was worse too. So basically, I don't know what's worse... More actual puking over a shorter period of time or totally mind bending nausea and manageable puking over a longer period of time
Good luck with your ttc preparation. I can't recommend doing a protocol highly enough. Do post it up and we can all read it and hopefully come up with some helpful tips that you may not have thought of.
So how old is your lo now? My dd was born on 17th Oct. '03. I can't believe she is going to be 2 this month
Where does the time go yet when you have HG, when has time ever gone so sloo-ooowly???!!!!
Love Natalie, x
